This site targets girls between the ages of 10 to 16, but contains information that could be useful for girls of any age! Some of the information you will find on this site is information on changes that could be happening with your body and questions you may have, information on fitness and nutrition, illness and disability, drugs and alcohol, relationships, bullying, healthy ways to handle stress and anxiety, and much much more! Does anyone have any healthy coping mechanisms that you have found to work well when under a lot of stress? (such as reading a book or going for a walk)  Please share! =)

Know a teen dealing with cancer?

Cancer is one of the hardest things a person could have to go through in their life. Not just for the person diagnosed with cancer, but for the friends and family of this person as well. Teens Living with Cancer is a great website dedicated specifically to teenagers and the hardships they are facing. It is a great website to visit even if you do not have cancer yourself, but want to be able to better understand and support a friend or loved one who does have cancer.

Free Meals and Activities During Summer

Oregon Summer Food is a program that provides free meals during the summer for children and teens (18 and younger). This was initially created to make sure that children and teens who rely on school lunches for their meals, will not go hungry during summer. What a great program, right?! Even better, by visiting their website, you can choose from 36 counties, with tons of locations within those counties, making it very likely that you or a friend will be able to find a location very close to you. The food and activities this program offers is completely free, and everyone is welcome, no questions asked!

As summer approaches, everyone is so stoked to be out of school and into the warm weather, right?! I know for me, and I’m sure a lot of you, it doesn’t quite set in right away the boredom that is bound to follow for the 2-3 months of no school. But no worries! You can avoid those days of being completely bored and stuck at home by checking out this website. If you don’t like some of the suggestions on the list, you could even use it as an example to brainstorm some of your own ideas. The Healing Place is a great non-profit that focuses on offering grief support programs for children, teens, and families. With over 100 locations in the United States, and caring staff and volunteers, it is a great resource for anyone who is needing some help to get through the hard time of losing a loved one. Without ever stepping foot in one of their many locations, you can find a ton of very useful information for yourself or someone you know just by visiting the website!

Free Health Club Memberships for Direct Family Members of National Guard Members

Members of the International Health Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) will offer free memberships to immediate family members (ages 13 and older, where applicable) of actively deployed reservists and National Guard members. Clubs may also provide additional benefits such as childcare, children’s programming, group classes, discounts for veterans, and discounts for active duty families. Beginning June 1, spouses and teen-age children can find participating clubs in their area online. Visit their website to find out more!
